Alicia is a senior majoring in Global Studies, Spanish, and French. She studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain in the Spring of 2018 and in Arles, France in the summer of 2019. She also spent the Spring 2019 semester interning in Washington, D.C. with the Illinois in Washington program. Alicia joined IAGE in August 2019. Her favorite part about working at the Advising and Resource Center is connecting with people from different backgrounds, learning about other students' study abroad experiences, and guiding students in expanding their world views!

Senior Program Assistant: Student Initiatives

Studied abroad in Brazil & Peru

Cynthia is a first-generation junior double majoring in Global Studies and Portuguese with a minor in Spanish. She studied abroad at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil during her Spring 18 semester. She began working for IAGE in August 2018. Her favorite part about working with the global engagement team is that she gets to reach out to underrepresented students and get them excited about going abroad and experiencing an experience of a lifetime!

Studied abroad in the UK

Delaney is a junior majoring in Journalism with minors in Public Relations and Business. She studied abroad in London, England during spring break of 2018 of her freshmen year, and will be studying abroad next semester in Milan, Italy. She began working at IAGE in August of 2019 and is a part of the Global Engagement Team. Her favorite part of working with IAGE is being able to meet a wide range of returnee students and tell their unique stories through our social media pages.

Gabriel is a Program Assistant for Student Initiatives, which is part of the Global Engagement Team. He is passionate about ensuring students in underrepresented groups, specifically queer students and students of color, have the resources and support to feel confident about studying abroad. Gabe is a senior in Acting, Spanish, and working toward his certification in translation studies. He studied abroad in Summer 2018 in Granada, Spain and has studied previously in London, England and Viña del Mar, Chile. You may have seen Gabe on stage last year with Illinois Theatre as Marat in Marat/Sade and Peg in Hit the Wall.

Traveled to Spain & India

Indira is a senior studying advertising. She joined the IAGE team as the Advertising Program Assistant in Fall 2019. She has spent her whole life traveling to Spain and India to visit family and hopes to study abroad short-term in Argentina in Spring 2020. Her favorite part about doing media and marketing for IAGE is getting to hear diverse stories about student experiences and finding creative ways to share them on social media.

Matt joined IAGE in August 2019. He is a senior majoring in Political Science, French, and Spanish. He studied abroad in France in spring 2018, Azerbaijan in summer 2018, and Costa Rica in spring 2019. His favorite part of working as a Program Assistant is sharing his passion for international experiences and helping students find the best program to fit their specific goals.

Nicole joined IAGE in August 2018. She is a junior majoring in Spanish with minors in Slavic Studies and English. She studied abroad in the spring of her sophomore year in Granada, Spain. Some of her favorite things about working as a Program Assistant are the ability to guide students on their path to an unforgettable global experience, and getting face-to-face contact with those who need the most help before and after their study abroad term.

Priya is a senior majoring in Global Studies and minoring in Asian American Studies and International Development Economics. She studied abroad in Khon Kaen, located in the northeast region of Thailand, during her spring semester of junior year. She started working at IAGE in August 2019. One of her favorite things about working as a Program Assistant at IAGE is getting to meet students of various backgrounds, learning about why they want to study abroad, and then being able to help them get started on an incredible global experience!

Studied abroad in Ghana & Spain

Rosianna is a first generation student and the first in her family to travel outside the U.S. She is a senior majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Spanish. She studied abroad in Ghana for three weeks in the summer of 2018 for a hands on cultural study tour through the country. She also studied abroad in Granada, Spain for a seven week program in the summer of 2019. Her favorite part about working in the Advising & Resource Center is debunking study abroad myths and convincing students of diverse ethnicities to go abroad!

Yichen is a junior international student in Mathematics and Economics. He studied abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan during the Spring semester of his sophomore year and started working at IAGE in August 2019. The thing he likes the most about working in Advising and Resources Center is that he gets to meet students with different interests and explore their study abroad options with them.
