Throughout the year, the education abroad community is active in promoting education abroad opportunities to students, faculty, and staff.

Illinois Abroad Day

Illinois Abroad Day is a university-wide event held annually in the Fall. It is coordinated by Illinois Abroad and Global Exchange (IAGE) in collaboration with the college study abroad offices, who also host events across campus. The event provides students the opportunity to explore programs, talk to returning students, and learn about resources available to assist them in the process.

Info Sessions & Workshops

We offer a variety of info sessions and workshops to meet the needs of our students. All upcoming info session and workshop dates, times, locations, and details are available on the website Calendar.

Info Sessions

Location-specific, discipline-specific, and program-specific info sessions can be organized by study abroad staff and can cover general information about the process and programs available to students.

Co-Sponsored Info Sessions

Staff are happy to collaborate with other faculty and staff to showcase programs designed for students in a specific field. Visit the Meet Study Abroad Staff page to connect with a staff member.

First Steps Workshops

First Steps Workshops encourage students to consider important factors before choosing a program. This includes academics, housing, duration, location, and cost. Students learn how to research a program, understand the costs, apply for scholarships, and start an application.
